DYSFUNCTION

Have you heard of the exhibition 'Dysfunction'?

If you do not know what it is, let me explain,

Dysfunction is a student-curated exhibition exhibition by the year 5 International Baccalaureate Careers Certificate (IBCC) students at the School Of The Arts (SOTA). The title of this exhibition recalls notions of something flawed, broken and vulnerable, and that is the veins of imperfection running through and connecting each of the artworks on display. The road to self-discovery is a daunting one, one that requires fledgling artists to accept and embrace their fears and insecurities even as they attempt to transcend them.

These artworks are products of their first steps on that long journey, and a statement of intent by each and everyone of them -- fierce and destructive, thy are pipe dreams and pies in the sky. They are also the same breath, fiercely ambitious, funny, hopeful and full of insight of youth!

One of the super artists there, Grace Ling, my super special friend invited me to go over to SOTA for the opening night yesterday 28august!

Im the kind of person that does not like art and do not appreciate art (because i dont know how to) hahahaha! I was just gonna take a look there and to support my bestie. I expected myself to stay there for a few minutes but in the end, i stayed there for almost 2 hours before going out for late dinner/supper. So totally unexpected of me to do that. But oh well, that is besides the point.

The definition of art is different to many people, for example, the standard definition of art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional powers. To some people, it means the process of doing the art. What does art mean to you?

When i first went in to the exhibition hall, i was all lost and dont know anything. Im so glad that i met my friend Rulin just now at bugis junction! It was a really long day, went to town with my girls Linda and Adelynn to walk and see see for prom inspirations, then to bugis street with Brian and Angel to help her find her fashion style to seeing Rulin coincidentally and going to SOTA together haha, you can imagine how tired i was yesterday. Thanks to Rulin for accompanying me so that when i was lost, he can explain to me. Of course there were artists there too to introduce their artworks and stuff.

Okay okay, time for pictures of the artworks.

These are done by my bestie Grace, she has 2 outworks and im truly fascinated by her second art piece, ripped school uniforms. I mean like who would have thought of this idea? But the first one is also really good la, a magical egg that has either good or evil. In the good section, grace told me that each day of the exhibition, there will be different things up for 'grabs' hahahaha, for the opening night, there were peanut m&ms. If you want to know the different things that will be put into the pouch (which is also handmade by her), you can go to the exhibition to check it out and also check out the other artworks too!

Something that super fascinates me as well that is done by one of the other artists, is 'release it' which is to vent your frustrations out with this stick and something like a plastic jar together filled with coloured powders on clays. Sadly i couldnt try it because i dont have an extra attire haha!

The rest are really good as well! Like the film motion art:DD If your a kid, probably these images might not be suitable for you unless you can appreciate art!

Just something really cool. (NC16 haha)

Overall, it was a really good experience and i will definitely go back again, to see whats on grace pouch as well as to try out the release it. Hehehe.

Something i found from the singapore night festival <3

New Gift + Different Makeup For Different Events

Hey there!

I just wanna express my thanks for reading up on my blog although i didnt update, thank you so much!! :D For that, i shall blog today hahaha!

So recently, i got a surprise from my parents!

Mini 210 10.1-inch netbook

This totally came as a surprise as i didnt expect my parents to get a new laptop for me despite me asking them to get me one xxx years ago. Apparently the previous laptop that i was using died on me, all my files and everything gone!!! *cries*

They were at sim lim square just 1-2 weeks back wanting to get a new computer and got a new laptop for me as well hehehe <3

Not really a fan of HP but this netbook dam chio la, and the screen can be flipped over which makes it so versatile if i wanna watch movies and videos and stuff. IT IS ALSO TOUCH SCREEN, WAYYYYYYYY BETTER THAN the previous laptop i was using.

Although i dont really fancy the colour, i still like it cos there is some sort of glitter on the cover hehehe, i'll probably get some stickers to cover the HP sign cos im scared of it being scratched LOL.

Still trying to figure out how to customize my netbook hahaha! And so far, i have nothing but praises for this netbook except for the fact that it might get dirty easily so i have to be careful, still trying to learn how to use haha!

kk nexttt part of the post!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Some of you have been asking me how i do my makeup for everyday use and for photoshoot makeups like for outdoor and indoor studio so here i am going to share with you hehehe.

Starting with the most basic one, my everyday makeup (not really everyday as i only apply on some days depending on where i go)

I usually put on sunblock first, which has a moisturising effect like Nivea Sunblock because my skin can be dry at times . Then, covering up my super dark eye circles with Mac concealer (this is a MUST because i have super dark panda eye). Draw my brows with brow pen in dark brown, line my eyes a little with maybeline hypersharp eyeliner ( i will usually wing out my eye liner when im on outings, unless its casual meetup then i dont bother to wing it out)and finally just fix my whole makeup with Mac Studio Fix powder! I do add lipsticks at time with SILKYGIRL 08 moonlight pink or Maybeline NE03 Nude.

My basics (blusher and brush missing from picture haha)

 Outdoor shoots

For outdoor shoots, of course i have to put on sunblock la, as mentioned on top, basically the same as my everyday makeup, just that i will wing out my eyes, add in some eyeshadow colours, usually in light natural tones and apricot blusher from the face shop. Sometimes i do add on mascara too, from maybeline, my favourite mascara, Rocket mascara :D

Indoor shoot

With all the super strong lighting, id usually spend more time on my base, or rather everything because when the light shines on you, your light makeup cant be seen. With that, i will put on revlon prefecting primer followed by liquid foundation also from revlon, conceal my flaws with Mac concealer and then Mac studio fix powder. For the eyes, it would usually be more dramatic and the strong lighting usually make me put my eyeshadow a little darker like dark brown at the ends. With hypersharp liner, i line my eye with wings and using silkygirl big eye eyeliner, i line the bottom of my eye with the inner part white and outer part brown. For my eyelash, i use maybeline rocket mascara :D Brows have to be drawn thicker and blusher is in apricot colour, just adding in more than usual and 08 Moonlight Pink for the lips! (my super favourite colour for my lips)

Okay, that is about it. Thanks for reading :D
